Transformers 2 Features The Weirdest Robot In Disguise Yet

From io9.com:
"Rumor has it Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen features yet another new kind of Transformer — one which could make Sam Witwicky's love life very complicated. Is there nothing those robots can't disguise themselves as? Click through for spoilers.

Sources tell the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog that Alice (Isabel Lucas), the sexy girl who befriends Sam in college, is a Pretender, or a Transformer who hides inside a human-shaped shell. She could also be a hiding place for Ravage before he attacks Sam on campus.

Says one source:

In the case of Alice, the shell will be an attractive human woman while the inner robot is best described as a hybrid of the Frenzy robot design from the first movie. The Pretender Transformer will have an arm that transforms into an energy weapon, a long tongue, and a scanning tentacle.

Wow, it sounds sort of Freudian, and awesome. I guess that'll teach Sam to stray when Mikaela's out of town. The Alice = Transformer rumor is given more weight by a blurry set video that shows her walking calmly across campus while students are freaking out all around her"

Scenes for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Shot in Egypt

From ign.com:

"The Michael Bay-directed sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen recently shot on location in Egypt.

Waxword reports that "Transformers II turned its cameras at the Pyramids in Egypt, and again in the upper Egyptian town of Luxor, near the famed Valley of the Kings. This is significant for many reasons but mainly because it represents a rare move by two Hollywood studios, Paramount and DreamWorks, to connect to a country and culture that is perceived to be hostile the United States."

Star Shia LeBeouf was reportedly on hand for the Egyptian stint of filming.

The site adds that the sequel "shot for several days, bringing together a crew of 150 Americans and several dozen local Egyptians for an effort that producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who called from a cellphone while standing beside the pyramids, told me was 'remarkably smooth."

"Transformers" ride coming to Universal Studios ... Hollywood and Singapore

From Orlandosentinel.com:

"The long-rumored Transformers-themed ride, based on the blockbuster 2007 movie, is being developed for the Universal Studios theme park in Hollywood and the upcoming Universal Studios in Singapore, though there are no plans to open one in Orlando.

Universal Parks & Resorts called the planned new ride, to be developed in partnership with Hasbro Inc. and DreamWorks Pictures, "a mega-attraction." It would fuse 3D-high definition media, special effects and robotics with a ride system that will "transform perceptions of theme park experiences," according to a Universal news statement.

The rides are scheduled to make their debuts first at Universal Studios Singapore and then at Universal Studios Hollywood, both prior to summer, 2011. Joe Curley, spokesman for Universal Parks & Resorts, said there are no immediate plans for a Transformers ride in Orlando, where the company is currently developing a new music-themed roller coaster and a whole area themed for the popular Harry Potter books and movies.

"At Universal Orlando we are excited to open Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit at Universal Studios in 2009 and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in 2010," Curley said.

In Transformers, Earth’s humans are caught in the middle of an intergalactic war between two races of transformer robots, the friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons, which are able to change into a variety of objects, including cars, trucks, planes and other technological creations."
